Dr. Selina Matis is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). She has earned both her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Ph.D. in Social Work. Additionally, she has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in School Psychology.

Clinically, she has worked primarily in the mental health arena supporting children and their families in a variety of settings. She has specialized in treating trauma across the lifespan.  She is passionate about helping you to reach your highest potential and to live a life that you love.

Academically, she has worked to support aspiring social workers at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has taught a variety of subject areas including research, policy, human behavior in the social environment, child welfare, and program evaluation. She has experience supporting students through the social work field process in a variety of ways as well, including as a field coordinator, field faculty liaison, and as MSW supervisor.

Dr. Matis has been published and presented on a variety of topics including resilience, self-care and burn-out, trauma-informed social work, working with families, helping students succeed, and the social work competencies.
